Monte Cicogna

The Monte Cicogna family business is located in Lombardy, in the village of Moniga del Garda on the Brescian side of the western shore of Lake Garda. Around the farm, their vineyards are in an extremely exposed position. The influence of the lake and the wooded hill, that gives the farm its name, create a Mediterranean microclimate.

The Groppello di Moniga composed of 95 % of the Groppello and 5 % of the Barbera grape variety. For a long time most of the inhabitants of Moniga lived exclusively from agriculture, fishing and viniculture. Viniculture is still of great importance today, Moniga is particularly famous for the Chiaretto, Lugana and Groppello wines.
