Vincenzo Bossotti
Cisterna Terre di Chiesa
€13,90
The Bossotti Family Estate is located in Cisterna d’Asti in Piedmont. The 9 hectares of vineyards are situated around the small village at an altitude of 375 meters above sea level, where traditional grape varieties, as well as the autochthonous Croatina grape find perfect conditions on the steep hillsides.
Croatina, the grape variety for this wine, sprouts and ripens lately and produces a plentiful but not very constant yield. It is often blended with Nebbiolo but it can also produce varietal wines like this Cisterna Superiore d’Asti. Croatina is a “noble” vine, which means that it has hermaphroditic blossoms and is therefore self-fertile.
Appellation: Superiore D´Asti DOCG
Vineyard: vineyards around Cisterna d’Asti
Vineyard training system: Guyot
Vineyard soil: sandstone, sedimentary rock, limestone
Vinification: maturation in barrique for 12 months, in stainless steel for 6 months
Food Pairings: beef tartar, game, pasta dishes, mushroom, truffle
Characteristics: intense red colour, notes of red fruits, complex, well-structured tannin
Contains sulfites
