"As we are aware that the environment is a heritage that we pass on from generation to generation, we practice environmentally friendly agriculture, do not use water for irrigation, limiting treatments to what is strictly necessary to ensure the balance of plants and soils, and choose products with low dosage and impact." - Famiglia Marotti.
The Marche region is Italy's most eastern region where wine is made. The vineyards are located close to the mountains as well as to the adriatic coast, this makes the climate mediterranean but fresh.
L'azienda agricola Marotti Campi is located in Morro d'Alba, in one of the most beautiful parts of Marche region. The 3 vineyards are aligned to different geographic directions to use all of the advantages that come with each direction. Marotti Campi produces mostly autochthonous wines from the region, like Verdicchio - fresh, light, with a strong acidity and the typical almond-aroma - and Lacrima - a typical red wine with strong tannines and an aroma of herbs, spices and berries.
Our wine of the month of july is of course by the winery Marotti Campi. We chose the Verdicchio Riserva "Salmariano". It is a Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi DOCG which ages 2 months in barrique and 12 months in steel tanks.
