...my wine recommendation: the Barolo del Comune di Serralunga by Rivetto. This Barolo by the Rivetto winery in Piemonte is a perfect expression of its terroir - and of the passion that drives winemaker Enrico Rivetto. He was a pioneer for biodynamic winemaking in the barolo region and is still working with this vision in mind: to produce wine in harmony with people and nature. For me, as winemaker especially of Pinot Nero, Nebbiolo has always been a fascinating grape variety. This Barolo has all of the characteristics which I love about our Pinot Noir as well: the Barolo Serralunga is elegant but at the same time with strong tannins .
It's not just his philosophy and approach to winemaking which I find fascinating, Enrico Rivettos wines are also interesting because of the excellent value for money that you get. The Barolo del Comune di Serralunga is a Barolo of the highest quality , aged in wooden barrels for 24 months and available at 49 € in our onlineshop Enoselezione. The biodynamic Barolo by Rivetto is a very good pairing to a lot of meat dishes - but not only. For me, one of the best pairings with Barolo is raw meat like tartare or carpaccio or a medium-rare steak. Alternatively, risotto or ravioli work great as well.
