Carignan (Carignano) is one of the most cultivated grape variety in France. Most time it is cultivated on unsuitable terroirs, why the variety sometime has a bad report due to its too high yields. However, some producer including Tenuta L’Ariosa, have managed to increase the quality and produce exceptional high-quality wines from Carignano.

Vinification: maturation in large barrels for 12 months, in stainless steel for 6 months

Characteristics: Intense ruby red colour, notes of red berries, blackberries, spicy hints of leather and pepper, velvety, elegant tannins, long-lasting finish
