Nerello Mascalese

The characterful wines of the Feudo Bannera line wonderfully reflect the warmth and power of the south.

Nerello Mascalese is a red grape variety, second most common in Sicily after the Nero d’Avola variety. The late ripening variety is used for varietal wines as well as for blends of table wines. This Nerello Mascalese Feudo Bannera is produced as a 100 % varietal red wine of Sicily.

Vineyard: vineyards on the northern site of Mount Etna

Vineyard training system: Guyot

Vineyard soil: barren volcanic soils

Vinification: maturation in barrique for 6 months

Food Pairings: roasted meat, traditional dishes, cold cuts

Characteristics: intense ruby red colour, delicate notes of violet, smooth tannins
