The grape variety Primitivo is also known as Zinfandel and therefore Italian winegrowers often use this more international name for their products. The most known area for Primitivo is Manduria in Apulia where there is the DOC denomination Primitivo di Manduria, but some excellent products are also sold denominated as IGT Primitivo di Puglia.
